We know starting therapy can be overwhelming. We've shared some of our most frequently asked questions to help answer all of your questions.

In order to make the most of our time together, please ensure that you have completed all required forms for your specific clinician. You can find those here.

The first session (known as the initial intake) is typically 90 minutes. All subsequent sessions are 45 minutes. Times may vary based on clinician.

This depends on the clinician. A 90-minute intake with Dr. Pedersen is $390.00 for a 90-minute intake and $235.00 for all 45-minute sessions therefore after. The fees with one of our other Psychologists, the 90 minute intake is $375.00 and $225.00 for all subsequent sessions. With one of our Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, the 90-minute intake is $300.00 and $175.00 for all 45-minute sessions after that.

We do not accept insurance. Many PPO insurance plans offer a portion of reimbursements for mental health therapy. We will provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance at the end of each month. If you have questions about specific coverage, please call the customer service on the back of your insurance card.

A superbill is an itemized form used by healthcare providers which details services provided to a patient. It is the main data source for creation of a healthcare claim, which will be submitted to payers for reimbursement.

We accept cash, checks or credit cards at this time.

You will be able to view invoices, superbills and securely change your payment information through the client portal of SimplePractice. You will receive a link in your email to log into your client portal.

Our clinicians will work with you to try and find a regular appointment time that fits within your schedule.

Yes, you will receive a reminder via email 72 hours prior to your appointment. Please ensure we have the most up-to-date email address listed on the client forms.

Yes, our clinicians use a HIPAA client telehealth platform. If you prefer telehealth, you will receive a reminder and video link 72 hours prior.

We understand life comes up. Please try to cancel within a 48 hour timeframe to avoid a late cancellation fee.

Typically we work with both the child and caregiver. Sometimes the child (age-depending) may spend more one-on-one time with the therapist. If your child is in session individually, the caregiver is expected to remain on site.

Our job is to help you find a therapist who can help you best, and sometimes that isn't us. If you decide that is the case, we will provide referrals and help you find someone who is better suited for you and your child's needs.

There is no magic formula and change will not happen overnight. Therapy is a slow process and we know how incredibly frustrating that can be. Our clinicians are committed to guiding you throughout the entire process. It's important to remember that the small changes, accumulated over time with care and patience, constitute the big change.
